ATP Miami Open 2025 Prediction
As the Miami Open gets underway, the men's draw mixes established champions with rising stars.
The clear favorite, in the absence of Jannik Sinner, is obviously Carlos Alcaraz. But the Spaniard failed to deliver at Indian Wells, losing a tight match in the semifinals to eventual champion Jack Draper. He might be pushing hard to take at least one title from the Sunshine Double. Carlos Alcaraz's chances are 32% to win as the tournament gets underway.
Surprisingly, Novak Djokovic is considered as the second favorite, with 11% chances of winning. That is despite the fact that the Serbian is in an obvious lack of form and hasn't made any notable performance this year. We tend to see Djokovic as the #2 favorite as overrated at this point. However, his experience will be tough for his opponents.
Alexander Zverev and Jack Draper are both priced at 9.1% chance each. We can assume that Jack Draper, even though he plays formidable tennis, is tired after winning Indian Wells and will not have what it takes to take the double. However, we don't dismiss his chances and we think he's the second real favorite, not Djokovic. As for Zverev, the German is always a tough player and he's certainly a top contender for the title.
However, we will put Zverev along with the other bunch of players like Medvedev (7.7% chance to win the title), Alex de Minaur (5% chances) and Ben Shelton (4.3% chances). Shelton will also have the home crowd advantage, as does Taylor Fritz (3.8% chances to win).
Overall, we don't think Novak Djokovic will do well in this tournament and probably Carlos Alcaraz will snatch the title this year, after winning it for the first time in 2022.
